Kid Rock will headline the 2025 Hondo Rodeo Fest in Phoenix, stepping in for country singer Cody Johnson, who was forced to withdraw from the event due to an unexpected medical emergency. The multi-day festival is scheduled to take place from November 7 to 9 at Chase Field, located at 401 E. Jefferson St.

Originally slated to be the main act, Johnson canceled his appearance after undergoing emergency surgery for a ruptured eardrum, prompting event organizers to find a high-profile replacement. Kid Rock, known for his genre-blending style and long-standing support of the rodeo community, was announced as the new headliner.

James Trawick, founder and CEO of Hondo Rodeo, expressed confidence in the updated lineup, noting that Kid Rock is a prominent performer with a connection to the rodeo scene. “He’s a well-known artist who supports rodeo,” Trawick stated, underscoring the festival’s continued commitment to celebrating both music and rodeo culture.

The Hondo Rodeo Fest is more than just a concert series—it’s a full-fledged celebration of Western sports and music. Each day of the festival will begin with a free street fest open to the public at noon, followed by a professional rodeo competition at 6 p.m. and culminating in an evening concert at 8:30 p.m.

This year’s rodeo competition features 76 of the sport’s top athletes competing for a prize purse totaling $1 million, drawing talent and spectators from across the country. Jon Pardi, a well-known country artist, will serve as the opening act for the nightly concerts.

With a combination of high-stakes rodeo action and major music performances, the event promises to be a highlight on the fall entertainment calendar in Phoenix. Organizers have confirmed that all other festival events remain on schedule, and preparations are underway to ensure a successful weekend.

As of now, the festival is moving forward with the updated lineup, and attendees can look forward to three days of entertainment that blend rodeo tradition with top-tier musical acts.
