Country music fans and rodeo enthusiasts can expect a star-studded weekend this fall as the Hondo Rodeo Fest returns to Phoenix from November 7 through 9, 2025, at Chase Field. In a major lineup change, Kid Rock has been confirmed as the new headliner, stepping in for Cody Johnson, who had to withdraw due to an emergency surgery.
The three-day festival, hosted at 401 E. Jefferson St. in downtown Phoenix, blends high-energy concerts with professional rodeo competition, creating a unique entertainment experience. Each day of the event will begin with a street festival starting at noon, followed by rodeo action from 6 to 8 p.m., and capped off with evening concerts beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The rodeo competition itself promises top-tier talent, featuring 76 elite athletes competing for a share of a million-dollar prize purse. This high-stakes event serves as a major draw for both competitors and spectators, marking it as one of the premier rodeo showcases in the region.
James Trawick, founder and CEO of Hondo Rodeo, expressed confidence in the revised lineup, emphasizing Kid Rock’s strong presence in both the music and rodeo communities. Trawick noted that the artist is not only a household name but also a supporter of the rodeo lifestyle, making him a fitting replacement for Johnson.
Joining Kid Rock on the festival’s performance roster are several major acts across the three days. Friday night will feature performances by Nickelback and Treaty Oak Revival, while Sunday’s lineup includes country stars Jason Aldean and Riley Green. Jon Pardi is set to open the show, kicking off the musical festivities.
Despite the unexpected change in headliner, organizers are moving forward with a robust schedule and are encouraging fans to prepare for a weekend full of music, competition, and community celebration. The event remains on track, with all other programming and performances proceeding as planned.
