**COLORADO SPRINGS, CO** – Six people, including the driver, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after a Rivian SUV crashed through an exterior wall of the King Soopers located at 1750 West Uintah Street.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. when, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the SUV accelerated eastbound, plowing into the grocery store building. Both the Colorado Springs Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene. Authorities believe the crash was an accident.

Following the crash, the store was closed to allow for emergency response and an assessment of the damage. A spokesperson for King Soopers has confirmed the location will reopen its doors to the public at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.

The reopening is scheduled to take place following a “comprehensive property evaluation,” the spokesperson stated. No further details about the extent of the damage or the circumstances leading to the crash have been released.
