**Headline:** Teller County Rallies to Raise $45,000 in Massive Food Drive, Feeding Thousands

**WOODLAND PARK, CO** – In a powerful display of local generosity, a county-wide food drive held last Friday in Woodland Park successfully raised $45,000 in donations to support local food banks and families in need. The event, a collaboration between Teller County Commissioners, local leaders, and first responders, saw an outpouring of support from the community outside the local Walmart.

The initiative was organized to address the growing need for food assistance in the region. On Friday, community members were met by Teller County Commissioner Eric Stone, first responders, and Walmart store managers, who all came together to collect contributions. The response was immediate and substantial, with shoppers contributing both food and monetary donations.

The financial success of the drive was anchored by two significant contributions from local organizations. The Teller County Saddle Club made a remarkable $30,000 donation, while the Community Cares Bible College added another $15,000 to the total, bringing the day’s fundraising to an impressive $45,000.

Organizers noted the overwhelming spirit of the community, with one local leader stating, “When we put the word out, we knew our community would respond.”

The impact of the event was felt not only in the donation bins but also inside the store, as Walmart reported that food sales were up nearly 90% during the drive, indicating that many residents purchased items specifically to donate. The collected food and funds are projected to help feed approximately 3,000 people across the county.

For those who missed the event or wish to continue supporting the cause, another food drive is scheduled for next Friday at the City Market. The donations from these efforts will be distributed to residents this coming Monday at the Little Chapel Food Pantry in Divide.
