**Rivian SUV Crashes into West Uintah King Soopers, Injuring Six**
**COLORADO SPRINGS, CO** — Six people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Tuesday after a Rivian SUV crashed through an exterior wall of the King Soopers located on West Uintah Street.
The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. at the 1750 Uintah St. store. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the crash is believed to have been an accident. Authorities reported that the SUV accelerated eastbound while turning into the shopping center, leading it to collide with and breach the building.
Both the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the scene. The six individuals injured, which included the driver of the SUV, were all transported to a local hospital for treatment of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the crash, the store was closed to allow for emergency response and an assessment of the damage.
According to a spokesperson for King Soopers, the location at 1750 Uintah St. is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, following a “comprehensive property evaluation.”
