**Headline:** Florida Man Arrested on I-49 in Stolen Texas Vehicle, Suspected in Multi-State Identity Theft Scheme
**DESOTO PARISH, LA** – An early morning traffic stop on Interstate 49 this past weekend led to the arrest of an Orlando, Florida man who was found driving a vehicle reported stolen from Texas and possessing evidence of identity theft, according to the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday. DeSoto Sheriff Patrol Sergeant Angela Jordan initiated a traffic stop on a white Volkswagen Arteon that was traveling on I-49, just north of the Highway 175 exit.
During the stop, authorities discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Texas. A subsequent search of the Volkswagen uncovered evidence suggesting the driver was involved in identity theft activities that spanned across multiple states.
The driver was identified as Brandon Sanchez Brinson, 36, of Orlando. He was taken into custody at the scene.
K-9 Corporal Kelby Pearah and his K-9 partner, Karen, also assisted during the traffic stop and subsequent investigation.
Brinson was arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle and the evidence of identity theft found inside. The investigation remains active as authorities look into the extent of the alleged multi-state crimes.
