Three members of Palmer Lake’s local government resigned their positions on December 12, 2025, marking a significant shakeup in the town’s leadership. Trustee Michael Boyett stepped down citing personal health concerns, and was soon followed by fellow Trustee Tim Caves and Town Attorney Scott Krob, who also relinquished their posts.
Boyett, who had served on the Palmer Lake Board of Trustees, attributed his resignation to the physical and emotional toll of public service. According to a statement, he was advised by his cardiologist to withdraw from political responsibilities due to health-related stress. His departure marks the fourth resignation from the board in just six months, highlighting a period of notable instability in the town’s governance.
The resignations were addressed during a town meeting, where officials acknowledged the growing number of vacancies and the pressures facing members of the board. Trustee Tim Caves did not publicly disclose a specific reason for his resignation, while Town Attorney Scott Krob also left his position the same day.
With three key roles now unfilled, the Palmer Lake Board of Trustees faces the immediate challenge of maintaining governmental continuity and determining how to fill the vacant positions. The town has not yet announced a timeline for appointing replacements or holding elections.
As of now, the Board continues to operate with reduced membership, and further updates are expected as officials determine the next steps in addressing the leadership gaps.
