A WGN-TV employee was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents Friday in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood, following allegations that she threw objects at a Border Patrol vehicle. The woman, identified as Debbie Brockman, was later released without any charges filed against her.

The incident unfolded in a residential area of Lincoln Square, drawing attention from neighbors and raising questions within the community. ICE agents alleged that Brockman had assaulted a federal officer by hurling items at a Border Patrol car, prompting her arrest at the scene.

Despite the serious nature of the initial accusations, Brockman was released shortly afterward, and no formal charges were brought against her. WGN-TV, her employer, confirmed her release but declined to provide further details regarding the situation.

Josh Thomas, an attorney familiar with the case, voiced concern about the broader implications of the incident, particularly its effect on neighborhood children who may have witnessed the arrest. He emphasized the importance of considering the impact such law enforcement actions can have on families and the local community.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed additional information about the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. The case remains closed with Brockman’s release and no charges pending.
