**Suspect Shot by Police After Vehicle Theft and Pursuit Across Two Counties**

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. — A 25-year-old man was shot and hospitalized following a vehicle theft and police chase that spanned multiple jurisdictions on the afternoon of Saturday, November 4, according to law enforcement officials.

The incident began around 3:30 p.m. when authorities responded to reports of a stolen 2025 Chevrolet Silverado. The suspect, identified as Michael R. Trujillo, allegedly took the vehicle and fled, prompting a multi-agency pursuit that crossed county lines.

During the chase, which involved the Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement, Trujillo is accused of firing shots at officers. The pursuit eventually ended in Pueblo West, where a Monument Police Department detective discharged their firearm, striking the suspect.

Emergency responders from the Pueblo West Fire Department provided immediate medical assistance at the scene. Trujillo was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. As of the latest updates, he has not been arrested or formally charged.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the shooting, with support from other involved agencies.
