**Two Local Veterans Receive Vehicles in Veterans Day Giveaway**
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two local veterans were gifted vehicles this Veterans Day in Colorado Springs, part of a national initiative to recognize and support former service members for their sacrifices. The giveaway, sponsored by Progressive Insurance, aimed to provide reliable transportation to veterans in need.
Spencer Proctor and James Neila, both military veterans residing in Colorado Springs, were among 99 recipients across the country selected to receive cars through this annual program. The event, timed to coincide with Veterans Day, was designed to acknowledge the contributions of veterans while addressing a practical need—access to dependable transportation.
Proctor, who received a Toyota Sienna, expressed his astonishment at being chosen. He shared that winning the car felt surreal, reflecting the emotional impact the gesture had on him.
Progressive Insurance has made this giveaway an annual tradition, partnering with local organizations and community groups to identify veterans who would benefit most from a vehicle. The program not only honors military service but also helps recipients overcome transportation challenges that can affect employment, healthcare access, and daily life.
The Colorado Springs event was one of many held nationwide, contributing to a total of 99 vehicle donations this year. Organizers emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader commitment to supporting veterans through tangible, life-enhancing assistance.
As of now, both Proctor and Neila have received their vehicles, and the giveaway event has concluded. Progressive has not yet announced details for next year’s program, but this year’s recipients are already experiencing the difference a reliable car can make.
