A Colorado Springs housing provider has received a significant financial boost as part of a statewide effort to increase affordable living options. Jetwing Flats was awarded $1 million to support its rental community.
The local funding is part of a broader $46.5 million investment announced by the Colorado State Housing Board and the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). State officials issued a total of 18 investments aimed at expanding access to affordable housing across Colorado.
Governor Jared Polis indicated that the state funding is intended to help develop more affordable homes for families. DOLA Executive Director Maria De Cambra added that the initiative reflects a dedication to fostering a variety of housing solutions for residents.
In addition to the Colorado Springs award, several other organizations received substantial allocations. The Impact Development Fund was granted $12 million, while Habitat for Humanity of Colorado, Inc. will receive $7.3 million. Other recipients include The Crossing Apartments with $1.6 million, Southeast Colorado Enterprise Development, Inc. with $1 million, and the Chaffee Housing Trust with $864,000.
The funds were distributed by DOLA’s Division of Housing to support community development and address housing affordability challenges. The state also announced eight additional two-year contract awards as part of the program.
