A Colorado Springs business is offering deeply discounted groceries to assist local residents facing financial strain, particularly during the government shutdown. My Bargain Mart, owned by Jim Krug, is selling a variety of food items at reduced prices to help community members, including those affected by potential issues with SNAP funding.

The store provides numerous low-cost options, such as chicken priced at one dollar per pound and beef available for between two and four dollars per pound. Other deals include bread for 99 cents and condiments starting at 50 cents. A meal package containing Sloppy Joe mix and buns is being sold for $2.50.

In addition to its low prices, the establishment offers a 10 percent discount to seniors and military personnel. The store accepts SNAP and EBT as forms of payment.

The owner, Jim Krug, has expressed a desire to help families in the area avoid going hungry. This Colorado Springs location is the 12th store for the business. Much of its current inventory was acquired from a Safeway that was closing.

Beyond its in-store sales, My Bargain Mart also supports the community by making donations to area food banks.
