**RALEIGH, N.C.** – A road rage incident in northeast Raleigh on Sunday night escalated into a violent confrontation involving a deliberate crash and a stabbing, leading to serious charges against one of the drivers.
The incident occurred just after 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Louisburg and Perry Creek roads. According to a news release from the Raleigh Police Department, officers arriving at the scene were met with a chaotic sight. “Officers discovered one man holding a ‘handgun while yelling at the other driver involved,'” the release stated.
The two men involved were Javier Alarcon, identified as the driver with the handgun, and an unnamed man who was driving a pickup truck. The initial road rage dispute between the two drivers reportedly intensified, culminating in a crash and a stabbing.
Both Alarcon and the other driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the altercation. They were both transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Following the investigation at the scene, Javier Alarcon was arrested. He faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, careless and reckless driving, simple affray, and two counts of child endangerment. The current status of both individuals is limited to their treatment for injuries.
